City
Tour
To
visit the city and fully enjoy it, the tourist and travel agencies
have devised original ways for the tourist to go through the streets
of Cartagena.
The
Chiva, A traditional wooden
bus, is one of the most amusing since it carries inside a popular
musical group called "papayera" and goes through the city
and up the monastery of La Popa, stopping at a typical cartagenera
food place and even a discotheque.
|
 |
 |
To
go through Bocagrande and El Laguito there are two pleasant
options: a train that departs every day from a corner known
as "El Bimbo" and an original firetruck which also
operates at night.
|
 |
To
leave Cartagena without having taken a tour on a carriage
pulled by horses is like not visiting the city, these are
found at the Park Flanagan, across from the Hotel Caribe.
|
A
guided city tour may be taken and includes the following places:
 |
La
Popa center, Panoramic view of the city and visit to the interior
of the cloister. |
 |
Monument
to the Old Shoes, a beautiful allegory to Cartagena. |
 |
San Felipe de Barajas Fortress, an extraordinary work of military
engineering |
 |
India
Catalina, conquest, beauty and history. |
 |

Bovedas, pride, history and craftsmanship of the walled city,
Cathedral, Plaza de Bolívar, Gold Museum and Walls. |
